Mangrove Conservation and Restoration

In Senegal, mangrove estuaries are disappearing at an alarming rate. The major reasons for mangrove loss are droughts and deforestation, agricultural expansion, coastal development, etc. The project will restore severely degraded mangroves in the Saint Louis and Sine Saloum regions of Senegal, with continued support for forest protection for ten years.

To contribute to the resilience of the populations through the sustainable management of the mangrove and the fight against the effects of climate change on the conservation of ecosystems and coastal erosion in particular.
